CCCC’s staff are hired on the basis of education, experience, and their ability to relate to young children. Our low staff turnover results in a high degree of stability for our children and the chance for them to form strong relationships with their caregivers.
Education, Background Checks, and Training
CCCC has 18 staff members, some have completed bachelor’s degrees, some are current students in early childhood education or have completed associates’ degrees, and others have a strong interest in ECE or past experience. All employees have passed a criminal history background check, as required by the State of Oregon Childcare Division. All classroom staff maintain current first aide/CPR certification and must hold a current Oregon Food handler’s permit, and receive Recognizing Child Abuse Training, Safe Sleep Training, and Health & Safety Training. All staff members participate in at least 15 hours of continuing education annually, through CCCC’s in-service program as well as outside classes and workshops. Staff are encouraged to enroll in Pathways and the Professional Development Registry, county and state systems implemented to recognize and reward the training and experience of childcare professionals.
